You know you are a die cast junkie when:
You consider spending $500 on a model, when you have been trying to convince your better half that you can't afford to replace the outdated kitchen counter tops.
Someone asks you why you have so many die cast cars and you just look at them like they are from outer space.
Every time you hear a sound like the UPS truck you open the front door and look for a package.
You try to tell the mints how to run their business.
The only dusting you do around the house is with a blush brush.
Your die cast cars are kept cleaner than you are.
You rent a $420 a year storage room to house 300 worthless boxes.
You and the UPS/Mailman/Fed ex driver know each other on a first name basis.
You Give a tour of your collection to every repair person who has ever visited your home.
You spend $500 on a huge model even though you have no room to display it.
You open your clothes closet only to find the box you are looking for.
You have convinced your spouse that die cast car collecting is an investment for the future.
You think that if one example of a particular model is good, six more of the same car in different colors is better.
You insist on showing everyone the engine wiring and the decal on the radiator.
You have more lighting on your die cast car displays than you have around your house at night.
You worry more about how global warming affects your collection than what it means to the world in general.
You vow to only collect (only) a certain category and when DM sends you something totally different, you keep it.
Well, I could go on. Anyone add more????
Traded off the bulk of my collection and cash for a.....
..... 1/24 scale #27 Joeuf Ferrari '64 250 GTO.
When the UPS guy knows you so well that . . .
. . . when he sees you at the mall he pulls up and gives you your FM packages.
. . . you spend time in broad daylight reading other people's lists of diecast junkie symptoms
When the 1st task of the day after the coffee is ready is to open Diecast Zone!
Diecast collecting
Frank, I am guilty of every single one. I almost choked reading your list...you haven't been spying on me, have you?
Bob, I must confess. All of them come from personal experience. There are more . . .
Before coffee???? I'm on the board before I even pee in the morning. LOL.
For the most part….guilty as charged.

You spend $200..00 in oak to build a shelf that is too small when you are done with it
Happened to me at the gas station some five miles from home.
When you're broke or can't afford another model and post your disappointment that nothing new is forthcoming from the mints.
What a howl! Thanks for a great laugh to start the day.
My contributions:
You don't actually know how many diecast cars you have, so you count, and are mystified as to how that many models could have gotten into your house.
You start putting some of your best models back in the box so there will be room for the newest treasure in the display case.
You tell your friends that you can quit the habit anytime you want
Frank, you are spot on. I read
Your list to my wife and she fell out laughing. Nearly every category you mentioned fits me to a tee. LOL
