DAMN! WOW! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING! HOLY TREASURE! My exclamations when I received this Flyer in the mail. DeSoto's were always a favorite car and this JET BLACK/ADVENTURER GOLD 1956 DESOTO ADVENTURER HARDTOP literally had me gasping for air. WHAT A KNOCK OUT!
LOL, I remember telling the Danbury Mint representative on the phone that I wanted it "delivered yesterday". I love this model!
One of DM's finer replicas. I remember the 'talk' on the forum when it first 'hit'. Some folks were put off with the wheel covers. But that was precisely what the car came with. The color combo is handsome!!

I understand about the Gold Wire Wheels, I'm not really a fan either. But as you said Tony, they were what came with this particular Adventurer and that is why they should be on the model. Folks that bought the cars new had something totally unique. Danbury Mint did this model so right!!!
@moe-parr, I've always wondered that too. It is one of Danbury's few shortcomings on their great models. But still glad to have the two '56 Chrysler 300's they gave us. I wish we'd have gotten the White one too, but it wasn't to be.
I'm one who believes the DeSoto Adventurer looks much better with chrome wire wheels, both on the 1:24 and the 1:1. I'm just not a fan of gold wheels or gold wheel covers, including Cadillac's Sabre Spokes. I seem to recall that a Zone member (John Merritt, perhaps?) modified their DM Adventurer with the wires and, to me at least, it looked amazingly delightful and delovely.
@al_dorado, it's not that I disagree with you on the wheel covers, because I think it would look better without the gold covers. But since that is the way the Adventurer came on the real car, I tolerate them for that reason.
