DM's '56 DeSotos, this beautiful Adventurer and the subsequent Fireflites and Firedomes, are great, and spot-on.
I don't know why their '56 Chrysler 300, which as 1:1 shared sheet metal with the DeSoto, was so "off".
Good point, Barry.

Excellent choice today George. A gorgeous model. I am not the one that modified the wheels on my Adventurer.
I do have two versions of the model, one with rear side windows and one without. DM issued them both ways I am guessing.
The one without was the 1st model I received from DM when it was issued. The model with the side windows was bought later 2nd hand.
I've known for several years that some of the Adventurer's came with side windows up. Mine was bought directly from Danbury Mint when the car was released and my side windows are DOWN. Thankfully! Windows on Hardtop's should always be down for the full magic feeling of the open-air Convertible feeling, but with a top.
I'm wondering, is it possible that Danbury Mint sold both ways and it was the luck of the draw as to what a customer got when they were bought? Take note that the Brochure that I posted at the top of this thread, has the window's UP. I don't know what the production number of this model was, but maybe a first batch had the windows up and then another had the windows down.
Something for busy minds to ponder. :_
