JSS Software
Hey guys. Since I'm new here, whats the difference between this site & the above?
Only real difference is audience...
....diecast.org has about 40,000 unique visitors each
month...JSS much much less. Not even measurable according to
quantcast.com...probably several hundred though.
This site also has much more buying and selling resources
attached to it.
Reach:
diecast.org: 0.00031
JSS: 0.00001
In terms of internet traffic statistics that is a huge
margin.
I like this site best because of the diversity and sheer
number of different input/opinions.
Many who post here also post there. Check it out yourself...
and check out the database Software they sell and support for us diecast collectors.
Chazz, JSS and Diecast Ramblings are both great sites as well. Also check out Diecast Pub. I like checking out all the diecast sites, it's just fun.:D
The main difference is the format.
This site posts numerically, every entry is assigned a number and the posts stay in that order. If you reply to an older post, your reply may never be seen because it is off the screen. The JSS site is organized by time stamp. If you post new info to an old entry, it goes to the front of the queue.
I enjoy all four sites and have find them all to be good sources of information.
It's definately checking out. As said above, many people post there and here, including myself.
JSS is a great place to discuss Diecast and other car stuff...
as are these forums and diecast ramblings. They all have a bit of a different vibe, but you will see lots of the same gang at each. I post at JSS more than the others, but that's just me.
Me too Jayme.
Chazz, I post in both places. Many collectors do.The formats are different, but easy to navigate.
A good, knowledgeable group comprise the membershiip on both sites and you will have a nice cross-section of opinions/facts/pictures by the double visits.
I believe that this site (Legacy Motors site) uses the JSS software to maintain its database.
Some day hopefully this site will realize the importance ot the time stamp method.
It can be frustrating to have a thread disappear down and off the page and subsequent posts likely ignored because no-one sees them. I liken it to standing in a crowd of friends chatting, and then the group starts walking off with you standing there. You continue talking and eventually your words cannot be heard as the crowd disappears down the street.
JSS is definitely a forum worth visiting. Yes, the number of people posting is much less, but the content and news is right up there with any of the others, including this one. So if you haven't been there, check it out.
