Just got the official word from the DM folks. The '35 Ford...
...is now sold out!
:((
Eh...it IS ...April Fool's Day.
Oh yeah; but sorry, this wasn't one of them : < (
There are some already for sale on ebay for around $350
And the eBay seller non-collectors, who buy them up for resale, are the folks that bother me.

Received mine today - also had an interesting email from JennieLu - asking if im in the diecast car business and would I like a quote for diecast parts in China? Ordinarily I would dismiss this as a scam - but it included telephone #'s fax etc. Can this be a good sign?
ASKING $350 you mean I didnt see any sell in that range yet
AT $350 the seller isnt making too much if you consider the model cost him about $260 Ebay and paypal fees total about 12% so thats another deduction of $42 So at that price youd make about $48 profit
George its free enterprise so.... Capitalize while you can is the name of the game
This dosn't bother me at all. I've bought models in the past to resell some and then offset the cost of the one I kept. Thie actually worked well when FM had LEs back in the day and they actually sold out within a month or so. I'd buy 3-4, wait till they were "SOLD OUT" then auction them off for a profit of at least $50-$60/car. THis netted me a FREE keeper and sometimes a profit to boot. This was what I refered to as collecting "Smart". I never had the means to collect the amount of models I did in the time I collected them so I had to get creative! This is also another reason I dont care all that much what they are worth now as IF I resell them, many actually cost me nothing AND made me a profit so overall I will have always made a profit should I sell my collection. I dont want to, just saying!
This strategy does have its limits. I could have pre-ordered several black Mark IIIs and then tried to resell them at a profit. Being these COST $449 I passed as it didnt seem like a good business move and too much to speculate on. ONE was for my collection and all I wanted so that left 49 for other collectors/speculators! LOL
After two months I ordered.........................
mine is not received yet. It was scheduled to ship March 17.
I hope it will be without issues.
I told them that they should have ordered more up front!
WOW!.
LOL Phil, I understand free enterprise. That doesn't mean I'm not entitled to not be in favor of those who buy up multiple cars, thus depriving the real collectors from getting them at original prices. I just find it to be a bit vulture like. And again, that is just my opinion. I'm entitled to it, as this is America.

I agree Phill three have sold ...$310, $310, and $339...all BIN.

@ $310 your making a profit of about $15 and at $339 about $45
NOT counting your time to create and auction and to go to the PO to mail it, gas to drive there etc.. seems almost like a waste especially for the $310 sellers! I know I wouldnt waste my time to make a net profit of $12-$16 bucks!
I agree..............
It is a waste of time for even a fifty bucks net profit even for the rare ones. When you put all together the parameters of paint rash issues, box condition, paperwork and the buyer finding something wrong to request a refund, it is not even anymore worth the waste of time to list them for sale.
I would prefer to put all my models back in their boxes and let them rot in storage. They have NEVER been an investment but a hobby with no asset value no matter I have many rare ones.
