THANK YOU VERY MUCH WALTER. I love the color. It looks a little darker that the prototype.

I'm not to crazy about the white interior, though. Maybe it looks better in person. One thing I wish FM did with these Mark II's, the sides (edges) of the doors should be body colored, not the same as the interion. Oh well, still a BEAUTIFUL model. Where's mine??? :((

Happy to see the color. Previous descriptions described it as "turquoise" and I was afraid it was going to look like the 1:43 TFM '61 Continental.

QUESTION...

How does the color compare to the Vicki's 1961 Continental?

56 MK II Convertible

I received mine on 01.06.2005 & it is the same exact color as the one I won at auction from D4C LECC V fund raiser (alledgedly 1 of 2 factory prototype models) It was my understanding that the LE run of 869 was to be a darker shade of turquoise. BTW, does all of the LE's have a placque in the trunk that reads "ONE of 869"? Both of the ones that I own have the same placque, instead of "XXX of 869". I also own the black MK II & the white LE MK II.

Brian, I don't see ANY reason why the cars should not be numbered. This business of "one of 869" is nonsense. This is the same numbering system as was used before, for example on the 57 Inca Silver Vette. There is no way to confirm the number of cars produced with a numbering system that has the edition size only.

Door edges

I believe they had a chrome cap over them, as well as chrome sill plates. I have some bare metal foil waiting.
