Galen, your pictures are excellent and I look forward to your posts, but . . .
I have a decent computer that loads everything quickly - everything except your pictures.
I'm no guru, but I suspect that you are posting pics that contain a huge amount of pixels and those pixels are taking resources from my computer.
If anyone else has experienced this situation please chime in.
Not trying to tell you how to take pics (I'm no photographer either), but might you try loading a pic that was designed for posting rather than enlargement?
...if it's any help...
I downloaded Galen's photo and opened it in Photoshop and it says it's 3022 pixels wide X 2185 high. I usually make my uploaded photos under 1000 pix wide and 760 pix seems to work well. When I've tried to upload my original photos that are too big, the green bar takes a long time to fill, then nothing shows up on my post. That's often how I find out that I've posted the original photo and not one I've reduced.
wisdom, thanks...
My 6yr old LG phone has no problem with Galen's pics. Go figure !
my browser slows for graphics when the cookies need cleaning out
Hello Frank....I use Chrome to log in and view Diecast dot org....I notice that graphics handling performance degrades over time....when that happens, clearing the Chrome cookies seems to resolve the issue....it also removes all saved passwords and pre-filled logins from the browser`s "memory"....once the cookies are cleared,a user would need to reenter passwords and logins as pages are viewed for what the browser see as "first time visited"....this may be too troublesome for some to deal with...
......if you want to find out if it`s your browser causing the issues, log in to this site using a different browser......Opera or Firefox for example
I post in a size source similar to what Galen uses and so far,I haven`t been made aware of any viewing issues......specs of Galen`s pic from this posting, side by side with a pic I posted a few days back

Thank, John. I do clean my browswer from time to time and I also use a program called "CCleaner".
Galen's posts are the only posts that I have trouble with.
That's why I think maybe the pictures are larger then necessary. If this was my normal occurrance for every post I would agree that maybe I need a new browser or something else was wrong with my computer.
same here
CCleaner is the same utility I`m using......be well Frank
