I think its a clone SS 409. Also missing Impala SS emblem on trunklid, wrong non-dash mounted tack, wrong aircleaner, wrong shifter. Nice looking car though.
I think you're right. It's a clone. I didn't look at it close enough. Sorry.
PIC - Perhaps with a manual, but I still don't think it came with the auto.
Yeah, I can be stubborn....
I'm going by what my 64 (different year, I know) came with. It was a SS convertible with the 409 and a 2 speed power glide, and it had no factory tach.

Tom - I was told it was part of the SS package...I'll guess it varied by state/dealership...I'm just telling you how mine came....someday I'm going to learn how to download things and I will show you a pix of my 63 SS...but watch out - i have lots of pix to show..LOL
I don't doubt yours did. I just wondered about the option.
BTW: I wish I had lots of pictures of mine! It was a time of life before I became interested in photography and I only have a few pics and they were taken after it was stolen and damaged.
6000 RPM on the 409 was the danger zone! Not a high rev engine!
red line on the 327 was 5000....maybe 5200 - can't remember
You're not kidding Thomas, there was more than one 409 that blew up because of high revving...6000 was a VERY dangerous number for these motors.........much like the 396/375 horse novas and chevelles that followed !!
