PICs - Daily Dose of Diecast...Friday

Recently, I spent some considerable time with the new NEO 1949 Cadillac. Here are a few photos of it with some of it's Cadillac brethren in "Formal Black"

Yes, they are a bit out of scale but I can live w/it. They are the same way on the 1:18.

Yeah but not an issue for me. Didn't notice it until it was discussed.

Yes, those headlights are rather large. I didn't really notice either until I compared...

it with some of my other models. That is when it became more obvious. Now for me, I can always justify an imperfection in a model one way or another. The opportunity to have the image usually outweighs the issue. As it does with this one.
Since for me the best features of the model is the rear and side profiles, that is the way it be displayed.
My hat is off to NEO for the efforts in creating this beautiful image and I am thrilled to have it. I sure hope they will offer many more in the future. To be honest, I am pulling away from 1:18 scale because of size, so if they release some of the resin models offered in that scale, I will be in heaven.

I agree that they messed up on the headlights. BUT, this is the first truly new 1/24 image that I know of since DM went belly up so I am willing to accept that flaw. The image is otherwise outstanding from my point of view. I don't recall an model from DM or FM that someone didn't find something to complain about and DM was making some fantastic stuff in their final years. Let's be happy there is still a little life left in 1/24 and hope that NEO will bring us more images and learn from our feedback.

It's all just critique !!!! I think even if one bought a $100000 Benz or $300k Rolls Royce that they'd find everything perfect or to there liking! Nothing is perfect and always has pros n cons
