PICs - Daily Dose of Diecast...Thursday
OK, I am having a little more fun with my models. I really like doing these comparison type photo sets, so here is another one.
Recently, during one of my Chevy posts, George S. suggested I post all of my Chevy models by year. At first my reaction was, Yeah Right! but after thinking about it for a few days, I thought it would be kind of cool to post them and compare with the previous years. Along with that I'm also thought about comparing them with an occasional Ford where I can.
Sounds like a big undertaking, it is. I have a lot of Chevy models. No matter, I am up for a challenge. And besides, it's going to be a lot of fun too.
So if you're up for it, stick around a while and have some fun with me. OK...
First up is the oldest Chevy car in my collection, I have the DM '31 Chevy Pickup, but didn't include it here.
FM's 1932 Chevrolet Confederate Series BA Deluxe Sports Roadster
CHEVROLET DESIGN EVOLUTION...SERIES TWO
Chevrolet carried over quite a bit from the Series AE to the new Series BA in 1932. The changes they did make, gave the car an "upscale" look. That look mimicked the design of Buick or Oldsmobile.
With these changes, Chevrolet did nothing to the engine, the '32 models were still powered by Chevrolet's "Stovebolt Six"
The refresh was enough to help Chevrolet retain it's first place position in the American Automotive Market, despite the new Ford V-8.
Now for FM's rendition of this little gem, Outstanding! FM captured all the "upscale" Chevrolet was going for perfectly. Amazing details adorn this model from the outside in.
The model just shines. From the all the fine chrome details on the exterior to the finely crafted interior, not to mention the under-carriage and the engine compartment.
It is painted in a nice shade of yellow with black fenders and stripe, and finished off with some very fine red wire-wheels. A very beautiful model, and a must-have for me.

John, this is what it's all about.
We all have different ways to enjoy our little cars. I used to have an All-Open day once in a while. Displaying my models with doors, hoods, trunks, etc. all opened. Then my collection got too large to do that, then there was the fear of damage, handling them so much.
I love your dioramas, look forward to them every day. May be emailing you in the future.

John that's an awesome model and one I'm thrilled to own. This was TFM at its finest!!
And the 1939 Worlds Fair Ford, the Brass Era cars and many others are prime examples of TFM at its' finest hours! They could make a world class model when the bean counters were away and not involved! I own this gem and love it. Funny thing when it was rereleased as an LE in blue it did nothing for me! Was so excited for it to arrive, then once I opened it nothing! Sold it within a week or so!!

Your welcome and thank-you for the inspiration. Like I said, when I first read your suggestion, I blew it off because of the time involved. Well the thought lingered in the back of my mind and I began thinking of model comparisons I could make as well as loads of other things I could to do to make it more interesting. Next came the diorama idea, it took a couple of days to work that out, still not quite what I want so it will evolve too. So thanks for that first little thought. One never knows where inspiration will come from.
Something even bigger may be brewing too, but I don't want to jinx it, so enough of that. LOL!
