PICS: My WISH LIST 1:24 die-cast car #3

The 1953 MERCURY! Though sharing the Ford body, this Mercury was different enough to just be gorgeous in its own right.

Love the grille and taillights. In the mints heyday of giving us cars right and left, I always had my own "Wish List" of those I wished they would produce. Hoping they would "some day" was another aspect of the hobby that made it so much fun.

This baby would be a standout on my shelves! For me wanting certain cars wasn't so much about which color they'd produce it in, but rather would they produce it at all. And if they did, it may not have been my favorite color, but I would have been happy to have it none the less.

These two photo examples would have been just fine with me!

I agree. A '50s favorite...and I'm a GM-guy! LOL!

An outstanding car and it would have been a beautiful model. So far, three for three.

(PIC) I like the '53 Mercury, too. My family had a '53 exactly like this:

I would actually prefer a 54, mostly because of the tail lights

Thanks Barry! I plan to keep 'em coming. Back in the mints heyday, I always had a personal "Wish List" of cars I dreamed they would give us. And I'm sure most others here on the Forum had similar lists.

This is why it's so sad that the mints had to quit making them in 1:24 scale. There would never be a time when the market would have died.

So Keep watching and I'll be adding a "Wish List" car every day (for awhile anyway). It's my hope they stimulate comments and conversation.

Thanks again Barry!

PIC: John, I'd gladly take the 54 Mercury too, for the same reason you mention.

Love those taillights!photo no longer available

Personally, but in '54 I dont think there was a better looking car released for that model year.

PIC: I agree Bruce, the Mercury for 54 is pretty sharp. But...I know there always has to be a but ...I think the 54 Oldsmobile was pretty darn sharp too!

I'd have taken this beauty any day for my 1:24 collection.

Beautiful cars - I would take both those color combos in 1/24.
