PICS: My WISH LIST 1:24 die-cast car #8 1959 DODGE
I wasn't alone in hoping this elegant beauty would be announced by one of the mints. I'd have been all over this one like butter on toast.
It's an example of a car that seemed to evolve slowly over a couple year period. The '57 was a hint of something special, the '58 refined some of the rough edges, and then BAM! The rich and regal look of the '59 was the ONE we couldn't stop looking at.
I have to believe that for those that drove one, it was a sense of "I've arrived and calmness" when they were behind the wheel.
It was a car that just had a lot to look at every time you saw it. You wanted to touch it, sit in it, and for sure "push button" it in to drive and feel the highway.
YES! This was on my "Wish List" in 1:24 and will forever be.

1959 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer Coupe
A real beauty. In the detective show, THE BROTHERS BRANIGAN, one of them drove one of these in a convertible. Wonder what Dodge called the lighter color used with the black? It was a winner no matter what the name. Go MOPAR!
