Retired Diecast Information Needed
Does anyone know where I can find out what DM and FM 1:24 models have been retired?
I need photos and descriptions is possible.
I've got a collection I'm getting ready to sell, and I'm trying to get information on them, but many are retired.
Retired List of Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint Cars
I would use the Car List and Reviews on this web site. It has all the information you need to sell your cars ordocument your collection including photo's.
Too Many To Choose From
I'm having difficulty with some models because there were limited editions produced. Some may have different paint schemes, etc.
This collection was my fathers, and I don't know enough about some models to know if what I have is a regular production model, or a limited addition.
The auction database has been very helpful in determining the value of most of them, but the closed auctions don't include the photos used in the auctions, so on some of them, I'll clueless, and I don't want to list something incorrectly and not get the full value when I sell them.
Scott, you can cross-reference them between the lists and reviews and the archive section.
It takes a bit of time to do, but will be well worth the effort. By pricing cars correctly it will save you a lot of time overall. There is no book available that will instantly give you the info you need.
Thanks
Thanks for the info.
Would be useful...
There are now enough retired images, not to mention current ones, that sorting through the lists is time consuming. And the risk of missing something is pretty high.
Breaking down the Car Lists into current and retired would be no small task, of course, but perhaps the powers that be would consider it since it would be a very useful enhancement to the site.
I certainly agree - Also putting the item's Price Archive link on it's List & Review page . . .
Ted and Bob, you fellas are absolutely correct, this would be...
...a great enhancement. As such, I'll add it to the laundry list of desires for website upgrades. Keep in mind though, that we only have one man, my soul brother, George Dill, whose duty it is to gather, keep track of, sort through and load all of this incredibly large database of facts onto our website. We're always open to voluntary assistant editors to lend a hand on the collation of this sort of thing and we will, as I promise, keep this as something very beneficial to remember for future site enhancement consideration.
More information than I could ever use
I have been searching the Car Lists and Reviews as suggested, and I have found exactly what I has in search of.
Many thanks. As I suspected, many of the cars I have are discontinued, and the information I have gathered here will be invaluable when I sell this collection.
Thanks again.
Scott, I know that you are jumping into this late and its hard to gather all the info you need. I use the 'lists & reviews' and the 'autions price archives' to document my collection. I use a Lotus spread sheet to keep track of things, but it is much easier to do 1 or 2 models at a time as they enter the "parking lot" as opposed to all of them at once. I might be able to help you if you need anything. e-mail ---- mpkzoo@insightbb.com.
