You mentioned many times you didn't have interest in "static" models and or models without working features. That said whatever this chassis lacks shouldn't matter as you weren't going to buy one anyway. Just a thought

At twice the price of precision diecast with 1/10th the features it begs the question - why?

If you love the subject matter, the image is at the center of the issue. With classic images still yet to be made, how important, as a whole of automotive excellence, is the MK III?

This is not a taboo. Every static resin model looks about the same from below.
The only "surprise" are the ugly holes.

Even at the price point of these three models I am glad I bought them. WHY? Because I've always wanted a model of the Mark III Continental and until now there was never a proper and well proportioned model of this car. There have been attempts at modeling one in several scales, 1:64 (Hot Wheels and Johnny Lightening), Banthrico Banks in 1:22?? scale, 1:43 white metal models. I have had all in my hands at one time and until the Automodellos were released, the Legendary Motors were the closest model to a Mark III. NOT perfect by any stretch and they had some pokey details, but sitting on a shelf they look like a Mark III. Now that these 1:24ths have been release, I can honestly tell you they are THE BEST iteration of this iconic personal luxury car! Like ANY model they aren't perfect and a few areas could be improved/changed, but again I'm happy and glad to have them! I think IF you had one in hand you might change your mind and be happy with it.

Underbody looks good enough for a static model...

The model screwed down on it's base is fine too.I can keep it boxed up if I choose without damaging it.

To each his own for me it's the Lincoln hands down!

Thank you, George. That was my point. For the price the underside of the car just does not match the rest of it. I agree with those who say the car should have just come in a box - not screwed to a base. I display my cars in cases with clear shelves so you can look at the underside of the car and I do enjoy looking at all that detail.
This is just MY opinion. For those who wanted this car I am happy for you that you got a model you have been wanting for a long time and it does look spectacular top-side.

Way too much money for what you get. Not impressed.

John Im not defending it, I think alot has to do with the fact that .....

We're not used to "static" models. This seems to be the way most of them are on a curbside. They concentrate on what you CAN see! a trade off I guess in one way. I still like it ALL

Jay the under carriage of the 1:24th CMCs was never too impressive to be honest!

That was something we've discussed here a while back. While there naturally IS more detail then that of a static model, the chassis still pale when compared to FM or DM, WCPD, or GMP. Not my opinion either, it's a fact!
