Summer sure brings people out

So I was walking down Vista Del Mar this morning. Just me and my trusty old point and shoot. Boy it sure is different during the summer months. Everybody is out including what looks like part of a group of car guys on their way to a car show in Marina Del Rey.

And why not. It was a perfect So. Cal day.

Oops! I spoke too soon.

It was a good day for everyone except the owner of this pristine 49 Ford convertible. Wow , what a shame. Turns out, he was on his way to the car show (the direction the guys in the Chrysler 300 are headed) when he felt a bump in the right frontend of the car. Since he had just passed a gas station, he decided to turn around and try to limp back to the station.

He no sooner made the 180 when he felt the right front tire hit the upper inside of the fender well and the car came to a screathing halt.

To review: 1.)illegal U-turn over a double yellow.
Car comes to a halt. 2.) Not only a red zone but 3.)right in front of the fire hydrant. Nothing will bring you aid from the CHP any faster than a triple offence. Ouch!

Not to worry though. Nowadays, there is always a good Samaritan hiding in the bushes somewhere to make sure the L.A. cops/CHP are doing it properly. Ouch, indeed.

Now I'm not sure cause I haven't seen him in a long time but, I'd swear the guy in the tie, selling the V-dub was Brian Dunning. He looked like he was ready to close so I didn't want to bother him. Hee hee. Once a car guy, always a car guy.

I sure felt sorry for this poor guy. So did the CHP but they had to do what they had to do. Not to mention his entry fees (which he has now lost) and for the show that he will now miss. Having to call his buddy for a ride home and most of all,.....explaining it all to the little MRS. Now that's an ouch.

Oh, Oh, Here comes that beautiful 300 again. Sure gets the attention of the ladies, doesn't it.

Well, it looks like the guys are finally going to get through the little detour and make it to the show after all. Wish I could say the same for the guy with the 49.

Oh well, least we all forget, the operative word in "old cars" is OLD!

Just another summer Saturday on good old Vista Del Mar. Think I'll head on home and have a little lunch now.

Thanks for looking.

So, I'm looking at this traffic scene in beautiful Del Mar, and I am thinking, this is a great sequence of pics with some nice classic cars....than I came to my senses, and realized that these are models...now remember, I am only looking at the first pic....than I got it...my point...incredible layout of events....excellent work.
