Ideally, the leather straps that holds the mirror should loop in openings on both side of the mirror's base. This is how the DM model is made. In the Esval model case, the leather straps are made from metal, hence they are very uncooperative shaping around the spare wheel. I didn't want to modify the model more that I needed to retain all original parts, so the mirror is glued on top of the strap and is sitting "in the air", well it is what it is, a minor issue. I was happy Esval fixed the position of the wheels in the wheel well, the 1/43 Esval model looks bad because the wheels are too deep in the well.
