About a week ago I stated on the forum that I bought a model I’d never seen or heard of before, a DM 1957 Chevy stepside pickup. I’ve long known of the Cameo, but it never really pushed my buttons. Since the ‘57 is my favorite ‘50’s Chevy pickup and stepside is my favorite configuration, I was thrilled to get it, and black was icing on the cake. Unfortunately I had to cancel the order after being informed by the seller of a major defect in that the windshield was totally roached, most likely from being glued. I figured since I had never seen the model in my years of browsing that I had to be content being without. So you will never guess what showed up this morning on eBay! The second one that I’ve seen in close to six years, less than a week apart, and a buy it now to boot!
@diecast1-24cars Thanks, I hope so Greg, I can’t find much about the model. I may have overpaid, but I think I’m going to like it a lot.
What a beauty, enjoy buddy. I have several '57 Chevy trucks in my collection, love 'em all.💯👍
@geno You're a man of great taste Geno....from one Pontiac lover to another! I love this year Chevy pickup as well.
Good going Kevin...it looks cool in black.

@sizedoesmatter I would have been excited for a ‘57 Chevy stepside in any color John, but black is perfect for this one. The thing that surprises me about the model (other than I didn’t even know that it exsisted) was that DM did’t do it as a GMC.
How cool would that have been?!

@sizedoesmatter I received the model today and am shickled titless. After checking out the details I’m actually glad that DM stuck with the Chevy. I love the white paint break between the door edge and backlight. When I first saw the model I was kind of disappointed that DM used the Cameo wheels for the truck which I thought was a cop-out, but after a little research I learned that the Cameo beauty rings were a popular dealer installed option on the step side. The chrome spears on the hood take it over the top amazing! This little piece has been newly inducted into my top five favorites. If you like Chevy pickups you need to find this one and own it, it will put a smile on your face!
PS…am I the only one seeing the photos all messed up and elongated?
