Gus McCray`s pig rental sign is my one prevailing memory of the 1985 Pulitzer prize winning "Lonesome Dove"....I recall an illustration of the sign somewhere in the book......maybe in the pages preceding text......or maybe as one of the chapter headers

Pig rentals can be problematic; what with folks returning them with hind quarters missin' and all. Nobody's rentin' 'em after that, no sir.

we`re having an adoption event the weekend of the 12th at the old Big Lots in Candlewood......folks can come by,lift a pig or two,maybe take`em for a ride around the parking lot before making a final decision
