another clear, sharp and crisp set of pictures... love how you caught the depth in the blue paint.

Great pics, it took me a long time to get this one, I like this one and the burgundy one that the D4C commissioned.

I hear THAT John! Jay Olins and I were invited to a Franklin Mint Premiere in California a month or two before the unveiling of this car model, to handle the prototype. We were reminded of the previous models (450 Mercedes SL among them) that had 'pull-up' windows. But when we discovered the roll-ups, we stared at each other for a few moments with our mouths agape and wide smiles.

This model was about the high watermark for TFM. Sorry to say after that it was slowly heading downhill.

@rich-sufficool yep. Agree with the 39 Ford, I'd put their little Bugatti Type 35 up there with it.

I agree with you and Rich, Geoff. Maybe add the Hudson too except there were top-folding problems with most of them. But the technology was incredible for the scale.

TFM did a remarkable job with this and the maroon version with the trailer. I have both, but prefer the blue image. Big fan of blue exterior with tan interior and tan soft top.

@geoff-jowett Agreed. The Bugatti was just full of surprises. I think I had that model for at least a year and was still discovering some of its features.
