@perrone1 Tony, you can just click on the full car list & reviews in the blue line at top and then go through the process to get to FM and every other manufacturer that was on the old site. Hope this helps.
Got it - thanks SO much. So many are still there but SO many have no photos. But still; better than zip! Thanks again John!!
@perrone1 I glad I was able to help you Tony. I found that a number of years ago, and use it quite often when I add a vehicle. I print out your review to put with the papers of the new model. I have books and books of all the models.
Tony,
Thank you. I'm not "slow"--I'm just incredulous that this site would do that to ALL OF YOUR REPLICATED WORK!
And even though the pictures were missing, because you so thoroughly and consistently listed the EXACT DM and/or FM model names, it was super easy to just "cut 'n paste" YOUR model names into ebay, and find current pics and models to buy. NOBODY ELSE HERE DOES THAT (that I've seen).
But I am unclear as to when you did the restoration work on the "missing archives"--you said it was before the cloud existed?
In any event, is the "Wayback Machine's" collection of DM a COMPLETE representation of ALL of your "Lost Archives" of DM stuff?
And if so, can you please advise how I can upload the whole thing to the cloud, or download the whole thing my my harddrive?
And yes, if "John" could provide the missing FM portion of your EXCELLENT work, that would be fantastic!
Also, would it help get your "Lost Archives" restored to THIS SITE if I called that "Kathy" person, in Albany, NY, who I paid for my subscription, and asked HER to find someone to recover the "Lost Archives"? (And to PREVENT this horrible lunacy from recurring again?)
And is this website owned by "Vertical Scope"? Because they are buying up ALL sorts of motorsport/automotive-related websites, and it's not a good thing.
Thanks, man!

Art, I'll TRY to clarify. I did the majority of reviews for the original Diecast Zone. Those reviews had my photo shoot attached. At first there were 1 or 2 small photos, as time went on, there were as many as 10 and 12. These were archived (Before Cloud came about) but I kept the reviews from a certain date on my computer (3 computers actually - as time progressed) and didn't see a need to download all that went before it since they were archived. All photos were stored elsewhere; on memory sticks, CD and thumb drives. I was a member of the board and moderator of the forums but specifically on the 1/24th forum. They were there for some time when the site was new. It took me weeks to upload them. Somehow they slipped back into oblivion. When they were still part of the forums (Listed in Forum 24) I made the thread a 'sticky'. After so many were lost the second time, someone apparently deleted them all. Lost again.

Tony,
Wait--hold the phone. I do have a subscription, btw, and I'm aware that you've been painstakingly REBUILDING the archive of your reviews.
When you write this, who is this "...someone..."?
"After so many were lost the second time, someone apparently deleted them all. Lost again."
And aren't you a MOD here, or something?
I'm just a fairly-recently paid subscriber. I'm struggling to understand how single member, who was NOT a mod, could just DELETE them all???
Plus, since YOU'VE been RE-adding them, again, doesn't that mean you have everything you've added backed up on your own personal device--OR IN "THE CLOUD?"
The only reason I decided to pay the subscription was to read your 1:24 DM and FM reviews!!!
Can you please "escalate" this to "The Powers That Be" (which I assumed was YOU) and make someone who owns this site FIND your hard work again?
When the new owners took over the site, the Car Lists & Reviews were somehow lost - new IT people or a glitch somehow. I have retired and took the time to only moderate the same 1/24th forum but am an administrator here. I uploaded as many reviews as I still had on my devices, mostly memory sticks. I tried to upload what photos I still had. It took a few months but I got them loaded and I made the tread a sticky, like a sticky note. The thread does not fade away with no useage.
Some time ago, the first half were lost again. It happened at a time that we had a site problem so we figured an IT solution to that destroyed the reviews. They eventually lost the sticky designation and all were lost. Who is the someone or something? No idea. The Way Back Machine may or may not have them still but I'm too worn out to use it.
Yo can make them sticky again Tony

Sorry this is the web address so that you can see all the reviews. I must have copied the wrong one in my earlier post.
John, this link is priceless! Thanks.
hear hear! Thanks John. And it is/was right up to date. Sad reading but beautifully put by Tony. His review of DMs last 1/24Sorry this is the web address so that you can see all the reviews. I must have copied the wrong one in my earlier post.

Wait--what did you just do? I have questions:
1. Is that ALL of Tony's awesome DM and FM "Lost Reviews," put back up in this thread? If so, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. How did you do that?
3. How can we make sure this never happens again?
4. How can I download the entire 56 pages onto my hard drive?
5. (I've been here less than a year, but I saw these "Lost Reviews" up as recently as a month or two ago.) Please tell me what this sentence means:
"When the new owners took over the site, the Car Lists & Reviews were somehow lost - new IT people or a glitch somehow."
a) Specifically, WHO are the "new owners"--is it Vertical Scope?
b) WHEN did the "...new owners [take] over the site..."?
c) How can we ensure this never happens again, even assuming Tony makes them a "Sticky" again?

Art,
Thanks to John Napoli, one of our long time members, these links will help get to most of the reviews and a lot of the photos. Are they all here - no, to answer your question. A few older issues are not there and the very newest issues are missing, actually too many to elaborate on with out spending time trying to remember and check against car list codes. But it is good enough to make a sticky again WITH the link to DM and FM. I would seuggest bookmarking both so you always have them.
Tony's "lost reviews" thread was not lost. It lost its "pinning" to the top of the forum page and "sunk" down in the thread list. There is a search function on the top of the page, you can find any old posts using the right key words.
The new owner is MintModels, they bought the old website from LegacyDiecast more than 5 years ago (just scroll down this page and you will see their logos). Reportedly the old diecast.org site was too expensive to maintain and the site was moved to this WordPress platform. While the forums' interface improved, everything else including the auctions and the reviews database was never fixed to its previous functionality.
