It's obviously a bidding war OR "fake" bidding

When I say "fake" bidding a seller could have people he knows bid up an item to establish a false "high" value for it. I've seen this done many times in the past. BUT in all probability it's a bidding war between two people with small EGOs and big bank accounts! GREAT for the seller!!!!! LOL The last few that sold on the Bay sold for $99-$249 Highest being MIB and the lowest excellent unboxed condition.

If this seller is shilling the bid, he is not thinking straight. To do so, if he wins the car, will cost him well over $100.00. Not a good idea. He also would be playing with fire. Ebay will eventually sniff out his tactic and ban him as a seller.

Just two bidders that have too much money and are clueless

The "winner" and the seller can always cancel the auction avoiding the fee...

but in this case the winning bidder looks legit.

Here is some conclusion about the "winner" from the bidding statistics:
He has 91 feedbacks, and it looks like he is a collector, all his bids were on diecast.
Won 14 of 22 auctions in the last 30 days, many of them with multiple bids.
Hi did not win any items from the same seller, but did bid on one other auction of the same seller.
His bidding is very inefficient, which means he is either stupid, or scammer, or has so much money that he doesn't care.

The second bidder is harder to read because he has only 2 transactions.

I do not believe the seller has anything to do with this and I hope the transaction completes (though I doubt), so the seller would be the real winner.

Right and Carl is just fortunate enough to be on the receiving end.

It is my Auction and I would Never Have someone else bid it up or run up the bid. I started the auction at $99.00 and whatever it sells for I'll be Fine with it. Many here have bought from me and have been perfectly happy, I have a Perfect feedback score because of it. This does happen from time to time. I'm just selling my Collection and I find just being Honest and the Feedback Score Helps in getting good prices. I also sold the Bullit Charger last year and it set a Record. Lets see how it goes and Hope No One pulls a bid.

What I said does go on though and I have seen it! So then my second though is probably the case, the bidding war is between two people whom have pockets even bigger then their small EGOs! Their $$ I could car less. In the past I would contact bidders that were bidding ridiculous prices and tell them what the model was worth and even point them in the direction of an Identical model that had a BIN of HUNDREDS less then their current bid. No ebay has policed their website so much its even hard to contact sellers to ask questions. SO many words are sensored and IF a word might violate their policys the email isnt sent and you have to rephrase it.

I didn't take it that way. I've seen it also, especially on Private auctions. I just wanted to say I Don't do it thats all. I'm down to my last 30 Cars or so Hopefully everything goes well. Did I get some brochures from you awhile back?
