While going through stored models this weekend, I uncovered this early Vitesse of Portugal 1952 Triumph TR2.

The diecast casting accuracy is quite good for the time but the wire wheels, well done for the pre-1980s look dated now. I'm tempted to update them and add detailed trim.

David;

Where would you get the updated wheels you speak of?  I would like to change out several of the earlier/cheaper models I have ideally....MGAs come to mind.

@jack-dodds

I bought a dozen sets of Renaissance wire wheels in 1/43 at the CTCS Show in Toronto several years ago. I have used most of them. Previously, I bought similar sets on eBay. They still appear but shipping is usually higher than the wheel cost so you need to buy several sets to make it worth while. I prefer fully made wheels which always look better than the ones you need to assemble made by Tameo. Tron, BBR and Bosica make ready mades as well as Renaisance currently. They range from 10 to $20 a set of 4 but I paid less than half that t the CTCS show. Best sources are in Europe such as derouseautominiaturen.com.  See examples below.

Tron bring wire wheels in assembled sets.
