Hi guys,
The previous post on the Brooklin Chrysler has inspired me to do some Chrysler research. As you may all know about the New Yorker St Regis, I found brochure and images of the Windsor Spring Editions. These were produced to improve sales and were available on Hardtops and 4 door sedans. I have not heard of these before. The Brooklin 4 dr sedan would be a perfect starting point for a conversion. I may put this on my list. Here are the photos for your review.
Very cool. Thanks for posting.
Love the pictures and the information Chazy.
Thanks, Chazy. I remember those Spring editions from Chrysler.
Chrysler did the Windsor Spring Editions in multiple years during the '50s. I believe it ran from 1955 to 1959.Maybe someone can confirm this. They usually differentiated it from the regular Windsor by adding additional trim ,2 toning them in limited color choice and giving them a special name. I haven't done much research so I wasn't aware of the Green Falcon and Blue Heron in 1955. In 1958, the Windsor Spring Edition was called the Dartline. I did a model of one last year starting with a Western Model 1958 Chrysler kit. I agree with you that the 1955 Chrysler Green Falcon and Blue Heron would make interesting conversions. Here's some pictures of my Dartline.
Hey Ken, great conversion of the 58. I have an unbuilt 58 and I am inspired to do a Dartline. I will add to my list of projects. Thanks, again and great job!
My '55 Windsor is also a Spring Special. For Spring of 1955, Chrysler added 6 colors, which had previously been New Yorker only, to the Windsor line. Nugget Gold was among them.
However, they didn't give Windsor any new interior color choices (New Yorker had many more). Mine is green inside.
Great thread you created, Chazy!
