I've had one of these for a long time and always thought it was a very pleasant model.
OK the silver-painted brightwork is a bit grey and the colour matching of the interior and exterior is bad, but for a basic Road Champs it is still quite presentable.
I have been having a little bit of a blitz on old abandoned projects recently, so I dug out a rather bland and featureless plastic roof (off an old Solido, I suspect) from the parts bin, and with a little work around the edges it was a decent fit. I added three brass ribs across the top and shaped the spaces between them with filler, and now have a decent top-up convertible.
I could maybe have done a sedan or hardtop but that looked too much like hard work and I am not THAT passionate about old Oldsmobiles.
I have also just completed another long-delayed catch-up job, a 1957 Ford Ranchero camper van (!!) but since that is pure fantasy I have posted it in the Handicrafts forum instead. I got the usual "fatal error" message but I just ignored it and the post was successful. Hopefully this one will work as well.

Those both look great ! Road Champs did a very nice job with this very attractive car and it is excellent as a hardtop. Right now, I have a black convertible 1955 Oldsmobile in 1/18 scale from Welly and it is a favorite. I also used to have a two-tone green '55 Welly convertible from them, too. Olds were superb-looking automobiles !

The up top has improved the overall look of this model. Chuck
Great work Graeme and Christopher. I did some work with a Road Champs Oldsmobile as well. Using the roof off a GFCC Buick I created a four door hardtop. Yes, the edges of the rear window may be a bit off. Shown here with an Esval Olds two door hardtop and a very old Provence Moulage resin kit Oldsmobile.

Thanks John, that particular 1955 Oldsmobile 2-dr hardtop is NOT my work, but YOUR 4-dr hardtop is looks FANTASTIC! Very cool. 😎 😎 😎
