This one arrived today, even though its box dates it as 2016.   It's quite well done (if you like the "flash" of the late '50s), and only the insignia at the front seems to reflect its lower price range.  Mine came from Atlas Collections, China, but I think I've seen a very similar product under other names.  A thumbs-up for the equipment in the business end of this ambulance.  All in all, it's an interesting diecast model.

David, I’ve been curious about this model for some time. Thank you for the post.  It looks great.  Out of curiosity, can these Atlas Collections models be removed from their base.  I have one Citroen model that has a bizarre screw that is almost like a bolt and I haven’t figured out how to remove it.

Here's mine David, There was a resin version costing much more, but I'm fine with this less costly diecast.

@rrader    Hi rrader-   I just checked, as I have not taken mine off its base.  The ambulance is connected to the plastic base with a single screw.  And that's the point of confusion.  That screw head is the triangular inset that was briefly popular with Chinese manufacturers a few years back.  A regular screwdriver and/or a Phillip's Head will NOT work.  You have to get one of those triangular screw drivers.  And I've misplaced mine, confound it.  These triangular screw heads are mentioned every now and then.  Does anyone have a source?    Happy hunting, rrader!

@d-m-holcombe I bought a set of six on ebay a few years ago. I think it was about 12 bucks. I also had a hex-shaped triangular unit for an old electric screwdriver, but it doesn't fit my newer one.

@d-m-holcombe Thanks for the info, David!  I have seen the triangular screw head and I do have one of the special screwdrivers that fits.  Here’s a source if you need a replacement https://www.diecastdirect.com/product/18756/IXO-Models

I bought this and was impressed by the quality for such a cheapie.  Big old thing in 1/43 isn't it!

I've lost my triangular screw driver (for a while until it turns up) but as a work around I use a Dremel tool and a cutting disc to cut a groove in the screw so it takes a regular screw driver.

And this '59 Cadillac ambulance by Miller Meteor should look good with the 1960 Buick ambulance by Flxible.

The Cadillac ambulance is very nice for the price. I picked one up a couple of years ago, I recently added the '60 Buick. I should bring them together for a photo set.
