Definitely a great model especially in the two tone green. The only fault I could make is the window frame between the two doors is too wide making it look more like a four door sedan. Maybe one could cut off that photo etch and replace with a thinner piece?
I hesitated for a while too, then I decided I would regret it if I did not pick one up. And the green color scheme is the one to have, IMHO.
Harv; I have the red one which I really like and when I chose it I basically dismissed the 2-tone green as not as appealing. Since then though I have given this color a second look and have changed my mind about it. For example I have decided to get the upcoming Goldvarg 1961 Mercury in light green/white 2-tone rather than the red/white I previously decided upon. Like many other Forumites I have a fair number of models on display and it seems to be important to have more variety of colors present in the display cabinet to provide contrast and to allow the styling of individual models to stand out and be more noticed and appreciated.
What a fine DeSoto model of the beautiful '60 version ! LOL, even as a 6 year old boy, I thought they were gorgeous cars. My Mom and older sister thought it was a pretty cool ride, too, I guess. In this pic, I have no idea whose dog that is up on the turntable with us. (I think it is just a prop and not real, otherwise it might pee on a tire or something !) I think DeSoto/Plymouth was one of Dad's clients that year at the Chicago Automobile Show.
