These will be GREAT.ย Look forward to their release.
Thanks Mark!!

@100ford2003 Perhaps because so many diecasts of the '66 have been made, both in years past and in the current DeAgostini American Cars subscription series. Spark also did a resin '66 and a '68. To my knowledge no 1970 has been done, so I applaud Dave Gilbert's effort on this.
Thanks Harv! I would still love to see a '66 produced at some point by Stamp, but as I mentioned, I think it's time the '70 got some attention!

That was one of the reference photos that Stamp obtained, and I'm sure it is an owner modification.
Precisely why this endeavor is so vital. We can ALL imagine the collector backlash & uproar upon seeing a 1/43 tu-toneย ย 1970 Oldsmobile Toronado. Yikes!ย ๐ฌ ๐ฌ ๐ฌย
More exciting news! I just received confirmation from Stamp that I will be able to offer a third wheel choice for the Toro!
The deluxe wheel covers will be standard on the Ming Jade, Cinnamon Bronze, and Regency Rose:
The factory-correct silver painted base wheels will be standard on the Aegean Aqua:
And now another exclusive from TOYCARGEEK! A very common aftermarket owner modification is to have the base wheels chrome plated. This was NOT a factory option! If you prefer the chrome wheels, you will be able to order them as an option on any color!
I am ordering 50 sets of wheels that will be sold separately. Each set will have 4 wheels and tires pre-attached to their axles. Installation is easy; simply remove the chassis and drop them in. These can also be a dealer-installed accessory at additional cost. Pricing is still TBD, but I anticipate the approximate cost to be as follows:
1 set of chrome wheels (ordered with model, installed by buyer) - $9 and no shipping charge.
1 set of chrome wheels (ordered separately, installed by buyer) - $9 + shipping.
1 set of chrome wheels (ordered with model, installed by dealer, original wheels kept by dealer as exchange) - $14 and no shipping charge.
1 set of chrome wheels (ordered with model, installed by dealer, original wheels included to buyer) - $18 and no shipping charge.

THIS is awesome.ย Talk about options & personalization!ย ๐ ๐ ๐ย
@mg-harv ....seems to me I played with one of these as a kid.ย Do any of them have steerable wheels?ย ย ๐ค ๐คจ

The Tekno had steering, and the Corgi came with plain wheels or with the fantastic Golden Jacks with Take-Off Wheels!

...... and the Solido version, green in @mg-harv Harv's photos, had working interior light. This came on when the doors were opened and used a mercury 1.35v cell (corrected from 1.5v).
Another feature of Tekno's Olds Toro was that it could be disassembled by applying pressure to a red button on the chassis. Then great fun, no doubt mixed with some frustration, could be had to rebuild it!
Today's models may be superb miniatures but they don't match the fascinating features of toys from long ago.

I would've traded a few chocolate milks for that model had I ever seen one as a kid.ย Those are some pretty neat features!ย ๐ ๐ย
@chris-sweetman I should try to find some of those batteries, if they are still made.
