These things just keep on coming. OK, for those of you who are following this American Cars series, this will be old news, but this one just reached me and I like it, so I'm posting it anyway, just in case anyone has missed it.

I just happen to like the general styling of Chrysler Corp. pony cars and muscle cars of this era (and for some reason I'm a sucker for those front bumpers that surround the grille).

I think they have captured the look and feel of the car well, and although it doesn't have a great deal in the way of the body graphics that were used on some versions of these cars, it is tidily done (as we've come to expect from this series) and the colour scheme makes it stand out.

I was ridiculously impressed by one tiny detail. The Plymouth badge on the nose is set is a little dip with a raised lip, and they have reproduced that recess and set the badge very neatly into it. Cool.

I already had a '71 Satellite done by Johnny Lightning, which is fun but not so well detailed and a little drab by comparison, with crappy plastic tyres.

I also have pair of eye-catching green items - A Plymouth GTX (model brand unknown, not shown on baseplate) and a Dodge Challenger by Minichamps

GTX + Challenger

plus another Dodge Challenger by Ixo (Premium X).

One small complaint on this latest model is the headlamps. Each one has two strange black mounting clips (or whatever they are). The Premium X Challenger has much better headlamps.

The back end treatment is well enough detailed, though.

I've found various sites listing the models in this series, but haven't yet discovered where to find news of releases as they happen, so I sometimes only discover them after they have been out for a while and people on eBay are starting to ramp up the prices. I recently got the '67 Buick Wildcat and paid about twice the price some online shops originally sold it for. It was still only about 30 Euros instead of the original 12-15 Euros, so not a disaster, but it's still kind of annoying and I wish I had a source reporting the latest releases. Anyone got one?

Yes, I saw that one on the site where I bought the model, but decided I like the "irises and snowdrops" colour scheme of the Satellite

Iris & snowdrop

rather than the GTX in a colour which may look very nice "in the metal" but my initial impression was a bit . . .

Thanks for helping my current diet regimen Graeme....I'm now off soft ice cream for good.  The metallic BROWN actually looks good.  To be honest I was a little disappointed with the non-metallic purple shade when it arrived (I still like it though).

Interestingly enough, the purple on the Satellite actually IS metallic. with a very fine grain (unlike the gross over-scale "tinsel" grain you sometimes see in 1:43, which is why it isn't that obvious.)

@graeme-ogg Thanks Graeme, that's good to hear.  I will adjust my glasses and look again.
