A Brooklin mystery

Last Thursday I bid on an unusual version of BML 11 Lincoln Zephyr - unusual in that it was gold plated and stated to be one of only 4. I lost out by one bid. I asked a certain UK collector (yeah, many of you know who he is but I won't name him in print) if he knew anything about it. Turns out, he was my competition! Anyway, he only bid on it as a novelty, which was also my intention. So I asked Simon Elford - he knew nothing about it. Nor did Julie Evans and Darren Mould - surely if these were made in the Nigel era they would have seen something. So is this a clever "Code 3" with counterfeit box labels, or was it a very secretive LE by Brooklin? Anyone ever hear of this one?

John Scrivens says this was produced at the factory, perhaps as an experiment in finishing. He says there may be others. Still, you'd think Julie or Darren would have known about it.

More news from BCC]s FB page - Darren was able to contact Nigel, the one person who should know for sure. He told him they were not from the factory, and he knew nothing about them.
