Wow, umm, I'm no Pontiac expert here but does the roof look chopped or is the body is too wide from top to bottom ?

Can't possibly be as Goldvarg Models are some of the best !

@100ford2003 I have this model Steve and didn't notice anything wrong with it.  Maybe it's just the pic perspective...not sure.

Not familiar with this model but I think the fact that that the lower edge of the roof has a bright highlight while the upper "dome" of the roof is shaded makes the roof look lower than it really is?

I also have this model and see nothing wrong with the roof. The pictures do make it look slightly low but in hand that's not the case. Because the model is of a four door hardtop it's possible that the roof line is longer than a two door which gives this illusion.

From the photos I looked up, the Catalina Hardtops do seem to have a lower looking stance with the hardtop roof. The Goldvarg model has captured that look.

Here's another view with a different background. Looks OK to me.

I love that Pontiac rolled grill. Brooklin did an ok job on the grill with their wagon, but as you can see, WMCE really knocked it out of the park with their '57 Star Chief!

Michel;  John Roberts was kind enough to do me up a BRK  '57 Pontiac Safari wagon in these colors.  It looks great on display beside the Goldvarg 4drht. of the same colors reversed.

Let's compare, shall we?

Does Steve have a point?

To me, the windshield height looks correct but perhaps the rear of the roof drops downs too soon... AND... the "side curve down" of the roof (where the top of the windows seat) might be a hair lower than the 1:1

IMO, nothing here is a "deal-breaker" (it's a great model).

What do you guys think?

Pontiac 57 4 dr HT 143
Pontiac 57 4 dr HT 2

Hey Christopher,

I can see that based on the 1:1 the rear glass is too small and gives the Goldvarg a slanted roof line. Thanks for the comparison

I hate to nit pick but I think the issue is the top is just bit too low and that makes the rear wrap around window too shallow but I would not throw it off the shelf if it was mine.   As I recall the 1955-1956 Fords that were pillarless hardtops did have a lower roof and shallower windscreen  than the sedans with pillars

John I have to thank you for initiating this thread. I had no intention of buying this model but your pictures made it look so appealing I just had to have it! It arrived today and it's stunning in this color combo and is already on display on my shelf.

Goldvarg's quality control is amazing, second to none!

You're very welcome, Barry. This is a great model and  I am happy you like it. As far as Goldvarg's quality control, I agree. His customer service is amazing too. It is always a pleasure when one if his models arrive.
