An interesting article has just appeared in MAR Online about 1:43 police versions of the 1972 Ambassador by Iconic Replicas. I know some of you regularly visit MAR online but others may not, in which case you might want to take a look.
Mark Sweeney posted pics of one version of this model 3 or 4 months ago, but this article has nice pics of all 3 versions, and although the author points out some minor detail errors I have to say they look pretty nice and an unusual subject.
Iconic Replicas 1972 AMC Matador Police Cars | MAR Online
No information is given about pricing or availability but I just had a look and they seem to be available online for around $50. Unfortunately all sellers seem to be in the U.S. at the moment, and postage plus customs charges are a bit of a deterrent. Don't know if any will find their way to retailers on this side of the pond.

Thanks for posting this, Graeme. These models look pretty decent. I like all 3 but the Adam-12 version most.
Those are all exceptionally nice AMC Ambassador police vehicles. They definitely make an eye-catching display and look great !
They are excellent models for sure. I have the Adam-12 and Phoenix Police versions. I remember seeing the Matadors on the road in the early 70's although never a police version other than the Adam-12 one on TV. I didn't catch the minor detail errors, and they are really irrelevant. The models are quite nice, and I am very pleased with mine.

I don't collect police cars but this looks like a nice model.
