AMC produced the Hornet compact from 1970 to 1977.  It later became the four wheel drive Eagle which was available as sedans and station wagons.   A quite innovative by AMC.  Then through an associated company in Mexico known as VAN Lerma a different version of the Hornet station wagon with two wheel drive was launched.  Note the subtle difference to the rear tailgate which was a steeper rake to the hatchback compared to the US version.  In the US, AMC also made a sporty coupe which was also a hatchback car.  This model is one from a James Bond movie.   Interestingly Hornets were made under license in South Africa by Toyota and in Australia and by Vehículos Automotores Mexicanos (VAM) in Mexico which is where the slightly different station wagon was made.

The US sedans and coupe.  The four door being a modification of the two door partworks item.

...yes, but it's pretty crude. In your hands, however, perhaps something could be done.  🤔 😏 🤔 🤨

@kenspear An accurate 1/43 Rambler Marlin would be really great but I do love my old Corgi!

There is a Mexican partworks one in red on Ebay with overpriced shipping from Spain.  Will keep my eye out for others.

I'd love a 1971 Sportabout, as this was my last car before the 36 year hiatus of living in NYC before buying another. And the Sportabout was the last new car my Dad bought. I have many fond memories of trips in it.

He sold it to a collector years later, and it looked exactly like this. I've always wondered if it's the same car.

@jack-dodds I agree Jack.

IMHO the '67 AMC Marlin had a sport-luxury look about it; which is a bit unusual.....I really like it.
