Some years ago Minichamps released a number of different Volkswagens. One series involved the 1600 Type 3 range including the notchback, squareback, and fastback versions. Recently a red 1600 fastback was released.

My hope is that Minichamps will release some squarebacks in crew colors.

What a great car AND model.  I've always loved the notchback (I'm a big fan of the classic 3-box design ) but I can't say I've seen many of these fastbacks, but I like 'em.  😀 😀

@chris  The notchback was actually the first of the three versions to be released. I think that was in 1963. None were imported to the U.S. but I think they may have been imported to Canada, anybody know? The squareback came to the U.S. in ‘65 and the fastback in ‘66.

Here is a notchback by minichamps.

Yes David, we had plenty of the notchbacks here in Canada back in the day.  I have the 3 body designs you mention by Minichamps/Maxichamps in various colors in my collection and love them.
