bos made 91 chevrolet caprice sw it looks nice
Way overdue for a wagon. Looks very nice, only needs whitewalls. Thanks.
What? An original BoS model? Not a copy? Amazing!
Quite nice, though. A good 1:43 of the Caprice sedan is still needed as well. The Road Champs was pretty crude and there was an expensive and somewhat under-scale version by somebody or other but that's about it as far as I know. It's a car that not everyone liked but I thought it was an interesting attempt to modernize the old land yacht and I'd quite like a decent model of it.

BoS make the 1991 Caprice sedan also.
The first issue is silver. It looks as good as the new wagon. It also was a first to be made by BoS, as was the 1990s Cadillac Seville and Eldorado. The Caprice is also available as a yellow taxi. They sneak them in sometimes when we aren't looking.
Interesting this topic showed up now - I just got my first BoS models last week (PICS).

Though I don't collect taxis as a rule, this one looked quite nice and I found it on sale, so I took the plunge. Like Graeme said, it does not appear to have been borrowed from another range. Nice touches are the cab license on the hood, bumper over-riders, and the delicate hood ornament (I wonder how many of those lasted into 1992 on NYC streets?)

Overall shape seems quite right, though I made no measurements. Windows are a little concave-y in places but quite clear. Dash and seat detail is good, but lacking the meter, divider to rear seat, and radio that a cab would have. Another gripe is the use of silver paint for hubcaps and grille, these should have been chrome. The bowtie is p/e.

Sorry for the "hazy" photos - rain preceded the outdoor shots today and my a/c-cooled camera took a long time to adjust to humidity outside.
Now to the Road Champs:

Yes, it's a somewhat crude toy by comparison, but then it cost about 6 bucks back in the 1990s. It too has a license on the hood, and appropriate NYC Yellow Cab markings. Note the lemon yellow color vs. the orangier BoS.

I always thought the RC was a bit too narrow, but in this shot it doesn't look much different. Might be an illusion caused by its longer rear window.
There were a few Caprice and Impala models.
Some were issued under IfITsGotWheels, some were RAE. The Impalas were PTH. Models were made by Western and SAMS. The custom lowrider version was resin. All were issued in a variety of colours; the PTH Impala was issued as both 1995 and 1996 models, but there were no visible differences.
For whatever reason, I can't add pictures 🙁
Here is mine....
I think it is made by If It's Got Wheels, it's been packed away for so long I do not remember. As soon as I find it, I'll posting on the auctions page.

And the PTH / Sams

In fact BoS have already issued the sedan as a NYC taxi.
And very nice and accurate it is too. And I have one sitting on a shelf. And last night I went on the Forum and whined that I didn't have a decent 1:43 Caprice in my collection yet.
Madness takes many forms. I believe I may be suffering from several of them.

LATE EDIT - Oh dear, just noticed Harvey already has a post about the taxi, and I missed it completely. The darkness descends ...

I must be too impatient to wait, I made this one years ago from a Road Champs.

Great wagons!
I have seen your pics before and admired your work. The 1980s Caprice Estate is one BOS needs to do as well.
