There are currently so many of Brooklin's '53 Buick Skylark on eBray. it seems like an accurate enough model, great subject, lovely color -- did they make zillions of these? Just curious. Other Brooklins are mighty scarce and we all have our watch-for lists.
For 40 bucks including shipping here's the one I grabbed. Perhaps an inexpensive piece to practice some scraping.
One of my all time favorite cars and one of my all time favorite Brooklins.
This was a very popular model in 1985 when it was released. Production numbers of standard models. are never released by the factory but it would be in the high thousands. That is why there are always many for sale.
Mark, for a model this old are the plated parts still nice and shiny? I have a Buick collection ranging from 1941 through 1964, plus the Yellow 1970 GSX I received today, and a 1953 would fill a gap in my models. Not sure if I want to try scraping, but I am very good at masking and airbrushing aluminum or chrome paint.

The '53 Buick from Brooklin has always been a favorite, one of the early Brooklin models to join my collection. I have a couple of them in both green & red.
Now as far as the FM version, it is not bad more & less. The wheel covers are pretty awful, and the taillights leave me a bit cold-not sure what's going on there. I have one packed away.

1953 Buick Skylarks are such beautiful cars that I find all of the models of it delightful. Presently, my only '53 Buick Skylark replica is a really nicely done 1/18th version from MotorMax.
Pix when I get it. Since it was inexpensive I can afford to take some chances with some mods. All suggestions welcome!
And if I befoul it I'll grab another.
