Thanks, John. A shower this afternoon put a halt to my little gardening effort, so I spent some time just roaming through the Brooklin Diaries site. And I found some information on one of my "oldies." In two parts, here it is:
This is a favorite! But until I read it in the Diary, I didn't realize it had a designation, being "BRK 5A."
This red special edition made me wonder why it didn't have the fire equipment on it. But the Diary explained that:
PHILADELPHIA FIRE
This model is fire engine red, both on the main body and on the fenders, thus differentiating it from the Norton and New Orleans fire coupes. Also, the fire extinguisher on the running board and the lights and siren are absent. Wheels are black. The only distinguishing feature is the small round decal found on the doors, which states "Battalion Chief, 9 D.P.S., Bureau of Fire", where D.P.S. stands for Division of Public Safety. Only 300 pieces were produced.

Now I know! Thanks, John!
(I also think the license tag is great!)
Enjoy!
