Here is the latest picture from my Brooklin in Illinois series, which I recently posted on the BCC Facebook Page.  It is BRK221x, the 1957 Chevrolet 4 door hardtop in Ruby Red and White made as a Modellautos-Budig Special. Some believe the color is closer to Seminole Red, which was used in Canada, but the box says Ruby Red.  The background is the Superdawg Drive-In Restaurant in Wheeling, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago.

The first Superdawg was established in May 1948 by Maurie and Florence (Flaurie) Berman and located at the corner of Devon, Milwaukee, and Nagle in the northwest part of Chicago.  That restaurant was later expanded, and in 2009, a second location was started in Wheeling (the background photo).

The restaurants feature two people-like hot dogs on top of the building.  Locally, they are known as Maurie and Flaurie.

It's a very smart Chevy and an evocative image.

Great post, Ed. Very authentic.  My red ‘57 came missing the “Chevrolet” script on the hood and the wheels do not spin freely. I do have two others, the standard Brooklin finished in Larkspur Blue and India Ivory and one in Colonial Cream and Tuxedo Black done by John Roberts, one of my favorite Brooklins.

I love those ‘57 Chevys.

@david-knight

I really like that cream and black one. The wheels on my red and white model do spin freely. These 1957 Chevrolets are very nice models.

For free spinning wheels, you could try this:
