Buccaneer models?

I have seen some Buccaneer models of Buicks and other US cars, late 1930's, for sale on eBay. Descriptions include made in England. I am not familiar with this line. Has anyone some knowledge to share?

David they are 'modern' copies of old 1930's ......

Dinky Toys. A Buccaneer is a type of pirate. And is a play on words 'Pirate' copy. I think that they were produced in the 1980's.

Hope this helps.

BUCCANEER MODELS

BUCCANEER MODELS, WERE WHITE METAL COPIES OF OLD DINKIES ISSUED BY GRAND PRIX MODELS , BACK IN THE 70S.

Buccaneers

The Buccaneer models were fairly simple white metal casting, but were quite nicely done at a time when most white metal castings were about an inch thick.

Thank you, gentlemen. Good information! I think I'll pass on the Buccaneers.

Buccaneer Models

Buccaneer models were indeed copies of old Dinky's with perhaps a bit better paint and were cast in white-metal, not Zamac. But although they were sold by Grand Prix (among other shops) they were NOT made by GPM. I think the name "Bucanner" was chosen because there already a company with the name "Pirate Models" doing old Dinky busses and trucks-- sorry, lorries.
