Hello all, I have a simple question which I would be grateful for a speedy answer to. I want the BRK Number of a Brooklin Models 1953 Cadillac Eldorado convertible. I have searched on line and cannot find any mention, or picture of such a model produce be Brooklin. But I'm sure it must be out there and I need a number 🙏
I'm aware of a Vitesse model, and I'm sure there are others, but off the top of my head, Brookllin never made one.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Hi Charles : I don't have an answer for that question, but I am confident some of our Brooklin experts here could likely provide such a number. In 1/43, I have two Kinsmart 1953 Cadillacs and two in 1/18 from Anson.

Is this the 1/43 model you're thinking of?
I'm NOT a Brooklin expert but in 2012 they did release this limited edition 1953 Series 62 Cadillac with a convertible top and a boot, but I've never seen a Brooklin 1953 Cadillac Eldorado. They did make '53 Skylarks and Fiestsa.
Here's the Vitesse (now Sunstar ) 1/43 1953 Cadillac Eldorado.
Hi Charles,
As far as I know, the only 1953 Cadillac convertible by Brooklin was a Series 62 I had the green version which was BRK 168X.
There was a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham BRK 27.

@chris Thank-you for your help. You and the other guys here may indeed, have answered my question in that I am assuming The '53 Eldorado Number I'm looking for was by Brooklin, whereas it's likely not. I've found a seriously damaged '53 Eldo' and am wanting to buy it, if I'm able to get parts. With good reason to think the model was a Brooklin, I wrote to Maurice Brown (I have details if anyone would like) who deals specifically with Brooklin parts and he's returned to me asking for the number. Which, I think we've all concluded, doesn't exist.
It's a very handsome Series 62 you have in your collection in a particularly nice green. I have a copy also of the Vitesse Eldorado which is of great sentimental value as it was bought for me as a gift in the mid-1980s and was the first time I stepped inside Ralph' and Kath's magical emporium St. Martin's Models.

Hello David, many thanks for your help. I think I must have had this Series 62 in mind. I have more fully explained my quest to Christopher, above, and every further confirmation of my error is a step in the right direction, so I'll be able to consider buying this damaged Eldorado, or not, on a firmer basis.
@mikedetorrice Although this is a '43 forum and began as a quest for information, it might prove a worthy excuse for any 1953 Eldorado postings so if your 1/18 Anson example - or an existing photo' of it is to hand, I , as I'm sure others would be, too, would love to see it

Hello John, and many thanks for your link. It is clear from others' posts and has been categorically confirmed by your link that I am looking for a Brooklin Number than doesn't exist. This does, however, answer my question and so I am extremely grateful for all the help you and everyone else has given me. I shall search for the elusive Eldorado elsewhere.
@charles-rockett You're very welcome, I'm glad I could offer some assistance. For what it's worth, the very best replica of a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado is (was ) Danbury Mint's 1/16 release. Yes, far from 1/43, I know, but it's a decent & heavy model. I have one in an obscure (but behind glass ) location......and yes, my whitewalls are dirty. LoL 😏 😏
'I Like Ike' - am I alone, in not seeing this car in white, without immediately thinking of Ike?
@chris I'm not the person to apologise for crappy photo's to - by comparison to mine, these are crystal clear and very nice to see your white Eldorados and to be driven so comfortably back in time.
@charles-rockett Yep! That's nice, but this is my favorite 1950's Ike video. If you watch nothing else....cue in from 1:18 to 1:25. Now, this is epic, historic and just plain cool!
