The PCT group have modified their '68 Barracuda (#18 in the DeAgostini American Cars series) to represent the prototype "mule" used to test the 426 HEMI for use in the super stock class at drag strips. The car was not road legal and was good for 11-second quarter miles straight from Hurst's shop. Only 50 were made, few survive. A story on the prototype can be found here:
Great car to have in your collection Harv. Thanks for the pics and link!
Now THAT looks damn nice and should sell like FRESH hot cakes!
NICE!

I like it! Surprised it would have windshield wipers being it was a test mule and not road legal.
@bob-jackman Looking at the website pics, the real one had a wiper on the driver's side, but I don't see one on the right side. I suppose I could take one off.

Bought two of these parts works Plymouth Formula S Barracudas and converted one into a convertible.

Interesting variant on this model, but the livery is a little "loud" for my taste. However, it did wake me up to the fact that I seem to have overlooked getting the original version, which I have now ordered.
2 or 3 years ago someone posted pics of their upgraded version.
Yes, it really does need those whitewalls, the basic tyres on the DeAgostini look like black lumpy donuts. Will have to see if I can fit something suitable.
There was also a rather nice blue version in the original Mexican series
Maybe that colour doesn't suit the sporty image so well, but it makes a refreshing change. Harder to find, though, and silly prices.
