@ben-lampson The ‘68 Ford was the final iteration of the cycle that started with the ‘65, and the ‘69 was the start of a new cycle. The sides of the new car were more rounded, the window glass was curved, and vent windows were eliminated; overall, there was more of a Coke bottle look similar to the GMs of the previous cycle. As you noted, the ‘69 has the “flying buttress” rear window similar to the ‘67 GM intermediates. Though as not as radical, you could compare the Ford yearly changes to the ‘68 and ‘69 Chrysler Corp full-size cars, which went from slab sides to the “fuselage” look.
