That box is still in great shape. Mine are all dented in and the clear cellophane(?) yellowed... 😎Â
Harv, that's another nice reminder of how much affection many of us still have for the Dinkies of that era. Quite a "Plain Jane" rendering of the '61 Ford, but very attractive for all that.
I have the basic green one plus the police and RCMP versions. Unfortunately when I acquired them. getting some of the old Dinkies back on the shelf was a kind of a nostalgic sideline to my main collecting, so I wasn't going to pay big money for mint & boxed and was happy with quite rough "pre-loved" specimens - and it shows!
At least the Mounties are still there, good, reliable chaps that they are. even if their radio communications may be problematical.

Of course, as you know, I have never allowed good taste or respect for an original model to inhibit my urge to mess around with them, so when I saw this pic of a Galaxie convertible in a book
there was no stopping me. OK, so you hate rear wheel spats, and you hate continental kits, but give me some credit, I did knock together a half-decent 2-tone interior. And all done in the best POSSIBLE taste (apart from the Dagmars, obviously).

@graeme-ogg Graeme, If that's a Dinky conversion, you could've fooled me. Look outstanding.

Oh, goody, I fooled you. Yes, it is of course the Dinky Fairlane (with some help from the parts bin and some Plasticard).

@graeme-ogg I probably should have posted the cop car versions when I posted the green one - here are mine.
Ah, no scrappy old "pre-loved" rubbish for you, I see. Very tidy.

@graeme-ogg Have the boxes too. But, if I were starting to collect Dinky Toys today, I think I would just get the scrappy ones. Then my granddaughter could play with them in whatever manner she chooses.
