I tried following the link to view this "beautiful object" but I kept getting a picture of a pink and green chevy wagon.

Did I hit the wrong key, or has my browser been hacked by some Ukranian pervert?

Unfortunately I've never activated the parental controls on my PC, which might have protected me from the emotional distress. All my own fault.

@graeme-ogg I had the same problem Graeme. I need to contact my internet security provider and see if I've been hacked.

I thought you were kidding. There really are 4 bids. Are there that many classic white metal model collectors who are colorblind? Seems like a niche market.

@randyrusk It could be a Covid-19 side effect. Perhaps the bidders should get tested.

A surprising number of people in the world are partially colour blind and don't realise it. And even as we speak, many of them are looking at this model's rather handsome battleship grey over dove grey livery and thinking "Hey, that's really pretty subtle, I love it. Yeah, I could go to 65 bucks on that."

Unfortunately the orderlies only allow them to spend $5 online per month, so they're kind of screwed.

JK wins again.

Somebody needs to outbid John on this one, for I feel bad for Mrs. K......can you imagine 2 of these things in her house?

I heard rumors that John likes to hang the one he has on the Christmas tree as an ornament every year!

Can you imagine?

His neighbors must be talking.

Ever since I first saw these pink and green cars at a show in Countryside Illinois, there are two things I have wondered.  Who first decided to create these, and why?

I'm sure JK will fill in the details but I seem to remember asking him why they chose those colours and I think his reply was something to the effect that " they thought they were nice".

You can't argue with that. Well, I mean, you CAN, but they produced the model so it was their call and they must have felt that the striking colour combo would attract a number of buyers. They just didn't realise they would all have the initials JK.

JK
