Given the astonishing level of attention this truly ridiculous topic has attracted, perhaps I may be excused if I round the whole thing off by re-posting my cartoon version of the background story, for the benefit of anyone who is bewildered by the whole business.
Apologies to those who really don't want to see this for a second time - or indeed for the first time - but since the archives from the old forum never did get ported across, I just thought a few folks might be amused to have another look?
Of course you might find this contribution to the debate just as baffling and disconcerting as the model itself. But that is the whole silly point of the exercise. ("BĂŠbĂŠ s'amuse" as they say in France.)

Quite the inspired production. DeMille is jealous, Scorsese suicidal, Ken Burns is cataplectic, and DaVinci rolling over in his grave!! This elemental foundation of our hobby, this creative expression of harmony and fidelity, this object of adoration and passion is worthy only of a historic record of this high caliber. You've done a marvelous job, Graeme. Now, bask in the glory of the fame and admiration of the thousand of us who cherish this icon of white metal soulishness.

With all possible respect, you do talk a load of absolute tosh sometimes. Still, I will take it in the spirit intended.
Given your extensive contacts in high places you might want to ask the guys at Pixar or Disney (or even Marvel Comics) if they are interested in buying the syndication rights (I'll cut you in for a share, obviously).

You don't have to be in your right mind to collect a roomful of model cars. In our heart of hearts I think we all knew that already.
It's all a matter of degree, obviously. I think this person's mind may be a bit less right than the average retard.
(Having said that, it IS a lovely model and we all secretly envy him.)
