In an earlier post, I mentioned that I'd picked up a few bargains recently. If I were to guess, the similarity driving the deals was motivated sellers. Some were dealers who acquired collections they needed to clear out. Others were family members selling off dad's collection. Regardless, they were ready to deal and I was ready to buy. Here are the highlights:
In the go big or go home category, I got these three large (and heavy) white metal models.
The first is the Brooklin CSV 15 1938 Flxible Buick Sterling Ambulance "Friendship Fire Co." When this one arrived, it was missing one of the thin chrome trim pieces that fits along the running board. I didn't catch that in the listing's photos, but the dealer still came through and sent me a replacement that fits perfectly.
Next was the very hefty M.A.E. 1939 McLaughlin Buick Royal Tour car. I didn't get this when it was originally issued because it was well outside my budget. But I got lucky this time around, picking it up for a very wallet-friendly price.
The last biggie comes from Auto Whisper. It's a 1966 Rolls-Royce hearse. The roofrack is starting to dip a bit but all-in-all, it's a good model.
Next up are a couple wagons. First, an older Conquest 1952 Buick Roadmaster in very dark blue flake. It's so dark blue it looks black. And even though it's an older release, it holds up very well.
The next wagon is a very well done customized Brooklin BRK 123 1954 Plymouth Belvedere Suburban wagon. I'm usually a bit of a purest when it comes to Brooklins, and outside the known work of John Roberts or John White, I'm not too keen on non-Brooklin factory original enhancements. However, the previous owner had it painted in two-tone green with a bit of well-applied chrome foiling detailing that really makes it pop.
Last up are some concept cars. I love the Hudson Italia and even though I think I already have the Highway Travelers version already, I didn't hesitate to buy it again. I just love those pipes! This one is resin cast (with a white metal chassis) and I think the other one I bought might be all white metal. Anyone wanna "weigh in" on whether they released it in two different materials?Â
The Great American Dream Machines No. 7 Cadillac El Camino is one I already had in my collection but no one was bidding on it and it went very cheap. So, now I have two. I love that aggressive grill.
Now here's one I've been pursuing. I have the very well done Minichamps version in resin, but I've sought the white metal Great American Dream Machines No. 11 1956 Chrysler Norseman for quite a while. Each time I've found one in my price range, there's been something missing or slightly off. This one came without the box but it's otherwise complete and in mint condition.
Finally, my newest acquisition is the Autocult Masterpiece 1958 Ford X400. You all know by now how much I like the obtuse, the weird, the wacky and uniquely original cars. Well, this one checks all the boxes with its over-the-top rocket fins and bubble top. It's right at home sitting next to the GM Firebird I, II, and III concepts from the era.
Well, that's all for now. I've gotta put these away to make room for whatever I can't live without next weekend. See you all soon!

All are great ones ! Excellent bargains and some terrific adds to your collection. Nice scores !
What an impressive collection Randy. I only have a few of these being primarily a European vehicle collector but see why you would want every one. Can you continue this purchase pace at Chicago this weekend if you are going?
Very nice and interesting set of purchases. Maybe you can equal this number at Countryside show.

@david-green It all depends what I find. I’ve come back from that show some years with only a couple models. Other times, it’s a bit more. But you’ll know for sure once I post my recap!
