Thanks John for your great review. I think it was discussed by Karl that the front fender script should be ninety eight not super 89 for 1957. I personally would have preferred the front and rear emblems to have been more 3D than flat. Although beautifully done, I think more exterior detail is evident in Sergio’s white metal version. IMO
I have always been a fan of the 57 Olds because of it's well balanced styling cues and I have several models of this year's offerings. My models include 1.18 scale, 1/43 scale including these two plus Sergios white metal version and the Brooklin versions and even a 1/87 scale convertible. To this day I still have trouble understanding what happened to the 58?
Mr. Jackman, I'm with you on what happened to the '58 Oldsmobile after the beautiful '57. I've always wondered why those incredible 3 windows in the rear were not used for more than one year. This said though, we all know that in that late fifties era, planned obsolescence was the order of the day. And in so many ways that was bad in hindsight. It's those 3 rear windows were the essence of the '57's beauty.

Great video, John. The models are beautiful.
What happened to the '58 Oldsmobile? Planned obsolescence but not in a good way.

I noticed from the Florida trip pics that Goldvarg have a '58 Olds wagon slated for future production! I'm not a fan of the car but I definitely will buy the model in station wagon form.
