I would say it would be based on your tastes. For me, I don't display the two together. I have a couple of the Brooklin '61 Imperial models and still wanted the ones from GLM.
There is a difference between the two. I like the Brooklin but it looks a bit heavy or chunky compared to the crispness of the GLM. With most of my models, I display white metal and resin together, but not always. Like the Imperial, sometimes the look is too much of a contrast.
I will say that while not real apparent with the Imperial, sometimes white metal models appear to be larger than their resin counterparts. Several times, I have planned some photoshoots that include both varieties only to find the size is not the same. An example is the Goldvarg '57 Pontiac and the WMCE Catalina Hardtops. The hardtop is definitely wider & taller, with larger features such as taillights.
With that, model collecting is a great hobby and as collector's we have a lot of variety to choose from. I buy what I like, and I don't usually worry about how it compares to another model. If it looks accurate and well made, I'd consider it.

@jcarnutz Well said John. I feel exactly like you in my collecting. The important thing to me is having the image.
@jcarnutz Thanks John for your very concise reply. It looks like we are on the same wavelength.
I agree, but I think the Brooklin convertible reissue of the hardtop resolves much of the toy-like issues of the latter. I like both for their character.
