John Roberts' version of the Henry J...
The real car never looked this good!

J.R.'s Henry J ...
That's more the colour I would like! Maybe any darker colour then the Green would look better?
The wishy-washy colors aren't pretty but they were popular in the '50's & '60's.
Wishy - Washy ...
The colour might not be my choice but I'm very pleased with the model. Maybe in the next few years there will appear a darker colour as a brk.118a
I'm reasonably familiar with the Henry J, the color comes accross as a very light turqoise
Is this an authentic color?
It is an actual Henry J color, Aloha Green.
Very good, thanks. Unless my monitor is off, it's a color I have not seen.
You might want to check your monitor.
It's just a good old wishy-washy pale green, very fifties :).
Henry-J was a fun car. My brother had two '51's, one light blue, the other was maroon.
I had a maroon '51 that had a flathead six, while my brothers' cars had 4-cylinder engines. One of the engines had "Hurricane" on the head but I can't rememeber which.
My brother put a Stewart-Warner electric fuel pump on his maroon '51 and it would get 95 mph on the speedometer.
A magazine did an article on a '51 Henry-J being made into a convertible by using a '49 Ford hood for the rear turtledeck. Evidently it was an almost perfect fit between the Henry-J rear fenders.
I can't recall ever seeing any other colors on a Henry-J than the maroon and light blue but there were probably more choices. I did see a white one but assumed it was a repaint.
Sears & Roebuck also sold the Henry-J under the "Allstate" marque but I have never seen one in person.

I found lots of photos on Lowells Henry J website
Here from COLLECTIBLE AUTOMOBILE 8/92 are the Henry J colors:
The colors probably were not all available at any one time and they may have replaced one another:

Allstate's were only sold in the South and Southeast. Total production was only 2,363 for the two years, 1952-3, they were made, so it is not surprising that you never saw one.
Dick, thanks for the color chart. I can honestly say I never saw the majority of those colors.
Just light blue and maroon for sure. There were quite a few running around my town in upstate NY and I thought they only came in two colors.
Live and learn, thanks for the info.

I guess your local K-F dealer just liked light blue & maroon.
When I was a Chrysler-Plymouth District Manager I often called on dealers who would only order their own favorite colors which were not always the best choices.
