Just acquired this beautiful '60 Lincoln "top-up" convertible. The color combo is stunning, it's a deep, rich metallic maroon:
In Brooklin terminology, this is a "Factory Special"...what does that exactly mean 🤔

Wow, it is a beautiful model !
It means that it was a Brooklin limited production; sorry I don't recall how many were made.
There were 2 Lincoln "Factory Specials",

Is there a definition of Factory Special - or just a lower production run than normal? Were they all modified some how from the regular issues (not just color)?
Congrats - it's Gorgeous!!

Yes, that's what I was wondering...

@moe-parr At the time the difference from the white convertible regular issue was the top up feature and of course the color. I got it at the time too....it's very nice! I THINK they did maybe a couple hundred of them??
I've had this model for many years and it's one of my (many) favorites.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
My recollection is that the BRK FS cars were small runs given to major dealers to sell, back in the days when there were high and low-volume sellers. Anyone remember? (I'm too lazy to look up the answer in my Brooklin book).
I guess this is a special version of BRK 57X.
Standard model was in black colour, 1000 units were produced. This one has an interesting colour. I haven't found it in my copy of the pre- series Brooklin Collector Guide published in 2013.
