I purchased a model from Italy and the seller was prompt in getting in the mail. Whoever delivered it from Italy to New York city was prompt also.......but that is where prompt ends.
Seeing that it entered the United States through New York city and I live in Boston, you would think it would have a very short trip up the east coast to Boston, and knowing the USPS uses passenger flights to get their deliveries around, it shouldn't take long for a package to get from NY city to Boston after it clears customs. My girlfriend works for American Airlines at Logan airport and tells me the USPS uses American Airlines flights all the time, and the flights from Boston to NY city and back to Boston are non stop all day.
As you can see on the tracking page, my package went south from NY city to Dulles Virginia, and then to Merrifield Virginia, then back to Dulles Virginia, then back to Merrifield Virginia.
Does this justify a call to USPS management?
Happened to me a while ago - if you go to your local PO, they lookup the same info. same if you call them. Then they say you have to give them 30 days to get it to you before they will do anything...

Your experience is not as bad as mine was on an Ebay item from Greece a year ago. Took 60 days to get to my local post office then due to a one letter misspelling in the street name was sent back to Greece! Advised seller of this but item never arrived back in over 60 days. Checked with the PO who advised it should be considered lost. Ebay guarantee was useless as it was over 30 days from transaction date. Approached Paypal with ALL the details, tracking, sequence of events, etc and they made good with full refund including shipping! Whole process took almost 5 months.

I have you beat, although it was a post card. Several years ago I had a vacation in Australia. I sent my parents a post card from Alice Springs, Australia. It took almost 3 years to get to the Chicago area.
